It may not be unt! June 8 that the present leaders of the First Division, the Craigongower C. C. and the Club de Recreio, are called upon to sustain their first defeat of the season. CAN INDIANS BEAT HOLDERST

However, it is on their own green that the Indians are formidable and to-day they will entertain high hopes of being able to beat the Craigen gower C. C. It seems too much to expect that they will humiliate the Happy Valley side and as the Craigen gower C. C. will not be engaged next Saturday they will have their first real test on June 8 when they meet the Club de Recreio.

This afternoon the Portuguese side visit Craigengower C. C. to play the "B" side but they should succeed in maintaining their record.

The Kowloon Bowling Green Club are not losing sight of the champion- ship even though they lost two mat- ches and they will be waiting to take advantage of the first slip by the present leaders. They receive the Civil Service, C. C. to-day and should win fairly comfortably.

Except for their victory against the Cralgengower "B" in the open- ing fixture of the season, the Kowloon Docks have not mut with much suc cess but today they should find the Kowloon C. C, easier opponents than those they have played during the past two weeks..

CHAMPIONSHIP DELAY

Several matches in the Open cham- pionships during the past week have revealed some very good bowls even though the competition is still in the first round stage. The rain of the funt couple of days has delayed the championships somewhat as the draw for the second round of the Singles event should have been made this week. However, the second round Paira matches and the first round singles games should be finished nox!! week and the following week a start will be made on the next rounds.

PRESENTATION TO

MR. HAMPTON

Bowlers are reminded, of the pre- sentation to Mr. Harry Hampton which is to take place at the Kowloon Cricket Club at 7 pm. on Tuesday. A beautiful gold watch suitably engraved, has been bought by local bowlers and the Hongkong" Lawn Bowls Association, of which body Mr. Hampton was Hon. Secretary for two years.

A nice gesture of friendship comes from Hankow bowlers, who, through the Hankow Raco Club have sent their best wishes to the Hongkong Lawn Bowls Association for a very success- ful season.
