I am directed by the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury to transmit to you herewith, a copy of a despatch from the Secretary of State, together with copies of an Order in Council, dated 27th November last, approving a Proclamation reducing the rate at which Dollars are issued to Imperial Treasurers in Hongkong, and on the China Station.
I am also to request that you will transmit to the Under Secretary of State for the Colonies,

copies of a similar Order in Council, of the same date, applying to the Straits Settlement.
