Alameda, April 21. It is understood that Colonel Charles Lindbergh, who won fame by his solo flight across the Atlantic, and now one of the executives of the Pan-American Airways Corporation, will probably command the first of the great four-engined "Clipper" ships to fly from California to China.
The inauguration of this service, from Alameda to the China coast, is expected late in the summer of this year.
It is further announced that the Oriental Clipper, which recently completed its first flight to Hawaii and return, will probably make another exploratory flight, this time to Midway Island, within ten days' time.
it is not stated whether or not Colonel Lindbergh will take the whip on this trip.
Officials of the Pan-Americani. Airways have announced that they are completely satisfied with the performance of the machine whleh Inst week How from California to Honolulu and returned to Alameda yesterday. The return journey. in spite of strong hend winds, was easily
