Splendid bowling by Lt. C Garthwalie and C. 8. M. Elvin caused the collapse of the Volunteers in both their fanings, and enabled the United Services to win by 119 runs in the two-day fixture which was concluded on the Hongkong Cricket Club ground) yesterday.
R. H. Grimths made a valiant effort to save his side, and his score of 65 was the result of a polished innings, casily the best in the match.
When tho Volunteers resumed their first innlogs yesterday, Lt. Garthwaite ran through the side, and finished up with the excellent figures of six wickets for 24 runs.
