LIKELY EXPLANATION
Luter. The reported piracy of the Kamuru Maru is now thought to be explained through confusion over the delayed arrival of the Deli Maru in Swatow.
Due to bad weather, the Deli Maru went off her regular course, and when nows of hor delay was received, a Japanese gunboat left Swatow in order to locate her. Later, it is stated, H.M.S. Decoy followed up, but eventually it learned that the Dell Maru was safe; she arrived at Swatow last evening.

"The opening of the lists of the new French Treasury bonds was heralded by a fierce attack on Rentes which fell sharply on the Bourse to-day.
The market believes that this attack is the first engagement in a war between the Government and big banking interests. It is freely predicted that the Flandin Cabinet will fall unless the Premier drastically. curbs bank actions against the Government.
