Djibouti, Jan. 21.
Abyssinian tribesmen, sweeping out of the desert, have attacked and massacred a small French post near the frontier of French Somaliland, presumably some time yesterday, according to reports reaching here. to- day.
Among the dead was a French administrative officer, whose name is not divulged.
The tribesmen slew eighteen troopers and 88 natives of Somaliland.
It is believed the tribesmen were marauding from one of the border provinces. They apparently came upon the French post by surprise. -Iteuler.
The date of the outrage is not certain, for the fighting occurred far inland and word may have the taken many hours to reach seacoast city of Djibouti.
It will be recalled that a similar incidont took place farther south and east.rocently when Abyssinian Arlbeamta and Italian colonial troops came into collision on the border of Italian Somali- There were serious losses on both sides near Unlual, and the matter) was made the subject of com- plaints to the League of Nations by both Italy and Abyssinia.
