DESPATCH.
to be paid to Dr Wharry, Superintendent of Civil Hospitals.
Asks instructions.
(Minutes.)
463
You will see by the minutes & draft in 10342/172, that £450 was intended to be Dr. Wharry's entire remuneration; by the letter to him of 2nd Dec. 1872 on 12629 that salary was understood to be inclusive of his passage out, as his salary was under £500 a year; he appears however from within 2 months of his arrival in the Colony to have drawn remuneration in excess of that specified in the despatch, which would not have entitled him to a passage to the Colony. I am afraid it must be noted that the £75 allowed for C.M. examinations should have been discontinued, but as it has not been, I think the case is made out for increase.
