I. Wynne-Jones at the Central Magistracy this morning, lio Wan,
metal worker, aged 20, charged with stealing three brass lamp standa, a silver chain with appendage and three plecer of clothing. between December 9 and 19. Defendant pleaded guilty and was bound over.
Ho Lok, the defendant's uncle, of 334 Canton Road. Kowloon, ap- peareil as complainant.
It was stated that the defendant was arrested in Lascar Row. He had in his possession the three lamp standa, which he was trying to sell. The defendant told the police that his uncle had given them to him
to sell. When defendant was taken to the Police Station the silver chain was found in his possession, and a pawn ticket for the clothing.
Defendant stated that his grand- mother was sick In Canton, and he wanted to go and see her. Com- plainant was away at the time, and he had no money, so he took the articles to raise the fare.
The Magistrate bound the de- fendant over in the sum of $75 for a period of 12 months, to come up for judgment when called upon.

Mr. W. M. Brown, solleftur of Messrs. Hastings and Co., Glouces ter Building, was involved in a mutor car drash in the Hunghom district in the early hours of this morning. The car became lodged in a nullah, but Mr. Brown, who was travelling alone, was fortunately unhurt,
In a report to the traille police, ¡Mr. Brown stated that at 1,20 a.m. he was driving his car No. 390 Jalong Cooke Street, towards Kow. loon Docks, when he accidentally Įknocked against the railings of the nullah, causing damage to them. The car fell into the nallah and was amashed.
