The building has been handed over by the Office of Works to the Commissioners of Crown Lands, the site being Crown property under the charge of these commis- aloners. In making this announce- ment the Commissioners state that they have consulted the Crown Lands Advisory Committee and that Committee has recommended that the Jermyn Street building wich is dilapidated and unfit to atand, should be demolished. Thre site it fa added, should be developed so as to give the best econornic return, and any new building erected thereon should, as regards height and general treatment, be in reasonable harmony with the Crown property on the opposite side of Piccadilly.
