Three men, wielding bamboo poles, made a sudden raid on a dynamite magazine at Lan Nel Wan, at Stanley Beach, shortly be fore 3 o'clock this morning. They attacked the watchman, Cheng Mul, when he resisted, and escaped up. the hillside, taking with them, a caso containing 400 sticks of ex- plosive.
When the police went to the magazine they found the watchman knocked almost into a state of insuraibility, and had him conveyed to hospital
The dynamite belonged to a building contractor employed on a constructional undertaking At Stanley. For dahing purposes dynamite is a desirabló article amongst the native boat-people.
