The heads of Revenue during the current year under which the receipts have been especially in excess of the Estimate are Share Quarries, Stamps, Rates, Postages and Justice Licenses, while a falling off under Spirit Licenses, Pensions, Special Receipts under Ordinance No. 10 of 1867 and two others of no great importance.

For the sake of easy reference I have in the margin quoted the Revenue and Expenditures of the Colony for five years, including the Estimates of the current year.

6. Regarding Expenditure Your Lordship will find that although it is proposed to expend $905,933 in excess of the estimated Revenue, yet that provision has been made for devoting $100,000 to Public Works of an unusual but most important nature.
