There is no doubt that Dr. Ayres has laboured most energetically, and with satisfactory results, in carrying out his duties under the Ordinance referred to. Constant and intelligent supervision is required to keep the Brothels in

a healthy

and cleanly state, and that Dr. Ayres has succeeded, at

an

expenditure of much labour and time, in doing so deserves the favourable consideration of the Government. The Colony

was never so

free from

Contagious Diseases as at the present time.
