INSULL’S VAIN STRUGGLE
COUNSEL REVEALS MARKET WAR
FIGHTING AVALANCHE
Chicago, Nov. 22.
During the closing stages of the trial of Samuel Insull, his son, and fifteen others who served under them in the great Insull securities and trust busines, counsel for the defence has emphati-
cally and repeatedly denied
that Insull unloaded his stock before the crash of his Utility Securities Company.
To-aay, counsel declared that of j the "accomodation cheques" to- talling U.S.$42.000. produced by the Guvernment, Insall had not received one dollar.
The reason for Insuli's final and compete embarrassment and the collapse of his gigantic eredit structure, WAN beenuse the banke were outselling him at every turn.
Everyone realised that although the stuck market crash came large- ly as a result of inflated values, prices actually fell far below their real worth it many cases. It was this situation which overbore; Insul and his colleagues, counsel;
the argued. insult made mistake as Mr, John D. Rockefel- ler, and practically every big financial man in Wall Street, in trying to stem the falling market tide before the half of the limit of the fall wos reuched.--Brulen
