BYRD'S RAPID SURVEY
New Work, Nov. 18. Rear Admiral Richard E. Byrd, head of the American expedition to the Antarctic, on returning from an aeroplane exploration dash towards the Pole, reported that he had obtained evidence tending to confirm the existence uf a wide strait dividing the Artarcile continent.
