A low level scheme together with the 375
Subsidiary scheme for improving the existing means of supply have been adopted and the latter is being actively carried on. This subsidiary work is mentioned in page 5 of the report and was to cost $9,000 independent of the main Scheme.
Consequently, it appears that this work is being carried out at present and that the main question has remained in abeyance. There is no clue in the Blue Books since 1875.
The subsidiary work above mentioned is explained at length in 1918-921175/55 and proposals have been approved. The main question at the time was regarded in the Estimates of 1876 (No. 95261) $103, $50 on abg 13092/75.
