It was proposed to adopt the second at a reduced cost of £50,000 and with a view to future extension.

The minutes of the Home authorities on (1670) show that the scheme was approved.

The Lieut. Gov. proposed a way for raising the loan in 11756, but neither of these despatches was approved of, as clearly shown in the minutes.

Further details can be found in the Hongkong Daily Press (Archci 1/7) where, in a resumé of Sir A. K's administration, it is said that the Surveyor General presented 3 Schemes.
