The club officials were very anxious to patch up the misunderstanding which had arisen between it and the league as a result of recent findings of the Emer- gency Committee, but lack of support by a number of playing members has forced the officials to abandon hope of being able to continue In the league.

The history of Tennis at Oxford begins in 1508, when four men were fined for the "keeping of a tennis play."
