AGAINST K. C. C.

(By R. Abbit)

That the game between the H.K.C.C. and the Civil Service was the first Senior League game of the year came as a surprise to me as, at the time of writing my notes last week I had neither card. I may say that the result of the game-a draw-also came as a surprise. I have heard a certain amount of criticism of the tactics of the C.S.C.C., with which I do not agree. If David must take on Goliath,

a sling is a better weapon than a club.

It is of course, unfortunate that the various teams are of such dis- proportionate strength, but cricket talent must be decentralized as Tar as possible if we are going to get the greatent good of the great- est number. And Saturday after noon cricket gives the underdog something of a chance to extend his opponent-pardon the mixed dm 22 | metaphor-if he in wily. 30
