I had on my return to Hong Kong to place myself in the hands of Doctor as my health had been much impacted by the anxiety thereby sustained.

The Clothes lost were latterly by Spanish sailor during my absence from the "Marie Louise" on the 22nd September.

The rendering of this claim has been delayed owing to my absence from Hong Kong since the 8th January 1874 and also by the deaths of Messrs. F. Heard who promised to act for me in the matter.
