improving the Water Supply.
The preparation of the Report, exceedingly lucid, comprehensive, and able, have necessitated a considerable expenditure of time and labor, and entailed exposure in all weathers in a trying climate which unfortunately resulted in sickness. The propriety of granting to Mr. Price and his Assistant, Mr. Danby, some pecuniary reward for their very exceptional work, has exhausted the subject of Water Supply of the Colony, under the consideration of the Executive Council at the last Meeting, and I beg to request Your Lordship's favorable consideration of the Resolutions which were passed, and of which I enclose a copy.
There will not be, I feel sure, any hesitation on the part of the Legislative Council to confirm this appreciation of Mr. Price's ability and energy by voting him a gratuity of One Thousand Dollars, as well as Five Hundred Dollars to Mr. Danby.
I have the honor to be, My Lord,
Your Lordship's most obedient humble servant;
Johnna Thomin
Administrator.
