Details of the Construction of the Proposed New Works in Tytom Valley. Low Level Project
The works required for this Project originally designed consisted of:
1. An Embankment 98 feet high with the Outlet and overflow works.
2. A Conduit Tunnel to convey the water supply to Victoria from the Tytam Valley through the ridge of hills which divide that Valley from the Northern slope of the Island.
3. An Open Conduit and 18 inch Iron Main from the Outlet of the above Tunnel to the City.
There is no longer any need to enter into any description of the Embankment and Outlet works, since the Colonial Government has decided for the present to do without a storage reservoir, limiting itself to bringing the contents of the Tytom Stream.
