RUNNING DIAMONDS FROM DAIREN TO‘KOBE

Dairen, Sept. 18. Extensive diamond smuggling from Dairen to Kobe is revealed with the announcement that Sanya Kondo, a resident of Dairen, was taken to Japan on September 16 in the custody of a Kobe customa officer, who unravelled the snug- gling plot.

Several other Datren residents, including a Frenchman, are under arrest for taking part in the smug- gling business.

It is alleged that over 650,000 yen worth of diamonds have been smuggled Into Japan by the gang.
