British "Invasion" of American Market

The biggest campaign on behalf of British film in Americo which has yet been undertaken is an- nounced by the Gaumont-British Film' Corporation.
The Corporation has decided to Initiate Immediately the most spectacular enterprise undertaken by any British film company alice talking pictures began by creating a machine for the distribution of British talking pictures through- out the United States..
For this purpose Mr. Jeffrey Bernerd, general manager of the Gaumont-British Picture Corpora tion, is sailing for New York to diny.
This enterprise means that Bri- tish talking pletures will be sold in direct to Amerienn cinemas exactly the same way as American talking pictures are sold by their producers to British cinemas.
Mr. Jeffrey Bernerd will have to create at least 15 distribution cen- tres in America and will have to rent approximately 30 key theatres in big cities, beginning with Now York.
The first five films he will offer will be "Jew Suss," "Chu Chin Chow," "Little Friend," "Man of Aran," and "The Iron Duke."
The preliminary work for the 'creation of this machine for the distribution of British films in America will cost £200,000.
