DEFENCE OPENS IN MURDER TRIAL
THIRD DAY OF CASE AT SESSIONS
The evidence for the Crown In the Wong Chuk Street murdor trial which to-day reached its third day of hearing in the Criminal Sessions, was completed this morning.
The accused is Cheung Chak, and he pleaded not guilty of the murder of Wong Sze-mul, a female, of 1 Wong Chuk Street, by causing. her to fall from the second floor June verandah at that address

A MODERN SLOOP LAUNCHED FOR REPLACEMENT.
London, Aug. 25. A modern sloop, the Indus, was launched to-day for the Indian Marine. She is a fast and up-to-date, vessel of 1,320 tona, somewhat' larger than the regular sloops of the Royal Navy.
The new ship will not increase the Indian fleet of five vessels, she being a replacement of a ship due for scrap- ping-Reuter Special.
