ARMY PAY RESTORED
ORDER EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY
TABLE OF FIGURES
With immediate effect the cuts imposed on May 1 of this year in the Colonial Allowance paid to all ranks of the British Army stationed in China are to be restored.
All officers and other ranks who received cuts will have refunded to them the amount deducted from their allowance since May: 1, but in the few isolated cases where on increase was made the reeipionts will not be called upon to refund to the authorities the ever payment made to them.
Notification of the restoration was published in the local Command Orders this morning..
The rates existing prior to May 1, which have now been restored, together with the revision which had effect from May I and has now been cancelled were as under.

London, Aug. 13. Extraordinary enthusiasm has marked the opening of the season of promenade concerts at Queen's Hall, which Sir Henry Wood, for the fortieth year, is conduct ing.....
Since Sir Henry first took over the conductorship at the age of 26, he has enormously stimulated popular interest in classical and modern musle.
Few seats are available at these concerts and the majority of the audience are quite unable to promenade so great is the demand for standing room.
