EMPLOYERS MEET ON

ARBITRATION

San Francisco, July 19. Shipping company employers oponed their conference to-day to consider the Strike Committoo's proposal of arbitration.

The Strike Committes passed a rosolution advocating arbitration yesterday, despite the protests of the Longshoromen's Union. The Radical Ying. Inisists that the Committoo was packed"?... with unauthorised delegates who swung the vote in favour of compromiso, The meeting of the employérş Is highly important in that it is expected to bring about an under standing as to the first stops neces- sary towards settlement of the general strike.-Reuter.
