MURDER CHARGE
KOWLOON DEFENDANT COMMITTED FOR TRIAL
Charged with the murder of a! Chinese woman, Wong Sze-mui, on June 6, n Chinese, Cheung Chak, wus committed to trial at the next Criminal Sesalons by Mr. Wynne- Jones at the Kowloon Magistracy yesterday afternoon.
Mr. W. J. Lockhart Smith, Assis tant Crown Solicitor, prosecuted, assisted by Inspector A. J. W. Dorling, who was in charge of in- vestigationa.
At yesterday's hearing of the case, evidence was given by Wong Police Muk-in, a recruit at the Training School, who arrested de- fendant after he had rushed out of No. 1 Wong Cheuk Street where, it is alleged, he stabbed Chu Sze with a scissor blade.
Inspector Charles Poyntz Kave evidence that at 1.50 pm, on June charge 6. he was called into the room at Shamshuipe Police-station where he saw defendant and other witucasca. Chu Sze made a com-1 plaint that defendant bad stabbed her.
The defendant, from the dock, denied all knowledge of the crime and said that he was hurrying back to work on the afternoon of June 6 when he was arrested.
He was committed for trial at the next Criminal Sessions at the Supreme Court.
