We have not yet received officially the complete accounts for 1875 but in order to make the history as complete
possible, it may be as well to record here what I have been able to ascertain from Newspaper Articles. The actual Revenue of 1875
$896,624, i.e. $41,800 in excess of 1874,
nearly $92,000 in excess of the Estimate (N.B. framed before the hurricane panic)
of this increase $10,780 was due to light-house dues, a new source of revenue, which I pointed out were omitted from the Estimate: The actual Expenditure turned out to be $869,822, which was as nearly as possible the total original Estimate; the individual votes of $15,000 towards the new Hospital, $75,000 towards the new central school were presumably not touched.
