Mx Bramston, a further Correspondence took place, which terminated with a letter from the French Consul to the Colonial Secretary, in which he conveyed her thanks and expressed his entire satisfaction.
It is to be regretted therefore that the French Consul did not await the result of his representations to the French Authorities before addressing any complaint to his Government.
I am &c Ryuff.
Mr Lister presents his Compliments to the Under Secretary of State for the Colonies, and begs to return herewith, the original inclosures which accompanied the letter from the Colonial Office of the 8th instant, respecting boarding of the French S.S. Anady by the Police at Hong Kong.
