amateur photographers,

2.-The Prizes will be awarded to the competitors sending in what are adjudged to be the best photographs in each Section. Each entry must be accompanied by the form below.

SUDDEN DEATH OF AN M.P.

SIR L. FORESTIER-

WALKER

The death occurred suddenly at his home, Rhiwderin, Monmouth- shire, of Sir (Charles) Leolin Forestier Walker, Conservative M.P. for the Monmouth division for the last sixteen years.

Sir Leolin had been in failing honth for some time und ble last public appearance woo ut the funeral of his cousin Lord Trede- KAT.

Sir Leolin was the first Welsh Conservative to be elected Chair- man of the Welsh National Party in the House of Commons. Ho was 68 years of age,

When he was oighteen he took up tea and coffee planting in Ceylon. A few years later he re- turned to this country, and opened a colliery In Monmouthshire. He was actively interested an a direc- tor with several business firms in South Wales, and was a keen sportsman.

Sir Leolin was made a Knight of the British Empire in 1925, and was created a baronet in 1929, For 21 years he was a member of Monmouthshire County Council, of which he had been Chairman. He was regarded as an authority agriculture, and represented

the Forestry Commission in the Parliament of 1024-29. He was formerly Chairman of the Kitchen Committee of the House of Com- mous.
