I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your despatch of the 10th inst with reference to the capture of the British Steamer "Carisbrook" by the Canton Customs Cruiser "Peng Chai Hai" off the Coast of Hainan and in reply to state the "Pirates" were found landing goods at a place called Ching lan and taken possession of by the Customs Officers.
