Please Teacher * * * 7 Why do good teachers make old maida?
This is the question which con- fronts us in black and white though we think that if we were to address the question personally to any of the teachers of our acquaintance we should get an answer only in the black-or per- haps the back!
Perhaps it would have been more gallant to ask
Why do bad teachers make good wives?
We believe that this really is the case though again the answer eludes us.
It may be because they start early on the path to knowledge or it may be because they soon learn that “a little learning is a dangerous thing" and resign themselves to a Ilva of married ignorance,
Anyway perhaps bad teachers fail because they have not the gift of the gaba sure signal for suc ccas in marringe.
Many of them we have no doubt marry to complete their education, and having graduated as mothers get their degrees as masters of the various arts by which marriage la attained by the tutorial pro fcasion.
Wo fear that such degrees aro the envy of the spinster section of the class whose failure to attain the matrimonial status has not been caused through want of try ing. Perlaps they have falled on examination or perhaps they have como to the philosophical con- elusion, that a certificate does not cover everything, W
We submit that it covers a great deal-including bad teachers:-
