ERECTION OF COOKHOUSE AT SHING MUN

The hearing of a claim for $1,000 by Chan Wah, aub-building contractor of 23, Yu Chau-Street, Kowloon, against Mesara. William Baxter and Company, buliding contractors, of Powell's Building, Hongkong. in respect of the erection of a combination cook- house at Shing Mun, was cori- tinued yesterday afternoon at the Supreme Court, before the Puisno Judge, Mr. R. E. Lindsell.

His Lordship gave judgment for $309.12 and $28.74, which plain- tiff had waived to bring his claim within the jurisdiction of the Court,

In addition 100 'cubic feet were needed for a chimney and stove.

The price for asbestos sleeting was $5 per shoot at Shing Mun incitiding washers, nails, etc. Thirty-two sheets were needed. Forty cubic feet of extra wood was supplied to plaintiff from witness's own workshop and he priced that at $140 per enble fool.

Witness agreed that $22 would be a fair price for the sink and fittings but at Messrs. Dodwell's It had cost him.528. Transport was $2.50.

Mr. Partiand, re-called, stated that under the contract plaintiff was to supply his own materials and as far as he knew plaintiff did no. He had in fact borrowed $25 on one occasion for the pur- pose of purchasing blocks.
