Last season's revival of interest in this section was fully maintained and the Club was able to send crews to compete in all the rowing events ar the R.ILK.Y.C. closing Cruise Inst April and were successful in winning the Senior Pair Our.and Griffin Pairi Our events.
As a result of the continued interest; shown by rowing Members it wos de- cided to hold our own Regatta, after lapse of 10 years. This was held at Kowloon Bay on November 26th and the Canton Rowing Club and Royal Hongkong Yacht Club sent re- presentative crows to compoto in a Triangular Meet, which was won by Canton. The Club succeeded in winn- ing the Senior Pair Oar and Griffin Fours events ·
Owing to the large number of mem- bers eligible for both the Senior and Junior events, it was possible to re- vive the races for the Chairman's Challenge Cup for Seniora and the Chinese Chamber of Commerco · Cup for Juniors--both confined to Mem- bera of the V.R.C. In addition to the shovo a new Cup was put up for competition called the Senior Juniors and this was won by "Trial Cup" open to mixed crews of
Mr. H. J. Silva's crew. Three boats participated.
A most enjoyable informal Dinner was held at the Club House after the Regatta, during which the prizes won were distributed.
The boat house is in a good state of repair and all the boats were over- hattled and repainted. It is consider. ed, however, by the Boat house sub. committee that the time has arrived for now boats to replace the old "Fours" now in use and stops are be- ing taken to raise the necessary fandu to attain this object, without having to call on the Club's general funds.
GYMNASIUM,
Full use was made by Members during the year of the facilities offer- ed for indoor training in the Gymnas- ium and if the same interest is shown during the coming winter season it would be advisable to re-organiing the usual regular programme of training n in the past.
The renovated billiard table has proved a great attraction and is in constant daily use. Two billiards handicap tournaments were held dur- ing the year and were keenly con- Leated.
Mr. F. W. T. Ross very kindly donated the prizes for the winner and runner-up of the Individual Handi-
