Tokyo, Mar. 23.

The aurprise created in London displomatic circles by revelations of Mr. Hirota's overtures to the United States offering preservation of the naval status quo in exchange for recognition of Man. chukuo, seemed to have found a strong echo in Japanese naval circles.

The Tokyo Navy Office does not contemplate any reduction in the demands which it propósos to make at the forthcoming naval conference.
