Legislation must be pnased which will enable the Treasury to provide £3,000,000 for the com- pletion of the huge luxury liner No. 634, construction on which has already been well advanced. The legislation must also allow for the provision by the Treasury of £1,600,000 working capital and another £5,000,000 for additional ships.
A consideration of the merger is that 62 per cent. of the Initial capital will be credited to the Cunard Company and 38 to the Oceanic Company-Reuter.
