There is only one conclusion to be drawn from the
Interport. Hongkong showed Shanghai and Tientsin
how to play football, and their northern friends showed the Colony team how to win. Against Tientsin on Saturday, Hongkong demonstrated once again the utter futility of a highly-skilled game unaccompanied by goals.

The Shanghai Rugby Interport fifteen played a magnificient-game on Saturday afternoon, when they defeated the Services fifteen by a goal and three tries (14 points) to two tries and a penalty (9 points).
The Shanghai team gave a far better account of themselves than in the Interport match, and the spectators were treated to a good open game with plenty of thrills.

Hongkong were again dogged by the worst luck. They outplayed Tientaln for three quarters of the game, but the refusal of the forwards to shoot was the main cause for the Colony's defeat. They literally made rings round the Tientaln dafence, but Horely lacked the essential finishing touches.
A sensational start to the game was provided when A. V. Gosano eut through the Tientsin defence to score the first goal, three minutes after the kick-off.
