The probobility of future peclarations in the localities

reforred to, render a more expensive design inexpectiont, and as experience; shows that the washing away of the wall is mainly due to the reflexe or buck wash of the waves which always begint by undermining the road way behind it, it is considered that the proposed additions will afford as sufficient protection during Ordinary

storms, though not against such typhoons of September last.
