The caso came on a week ago when prisoner pleaded not guilty and asked for time to bring rela- tives to give evidence that he was Hongkong-born.
This morning it was announced that none of the relatives named by Kwok could be found.

Mr. Justice Lindsell, Puisne Judge, addressing the jury, said the onus of proof that he was a native of the Colony was entirely on the prisoner. His father could not be found now but when ques tioned by the police last year he had said his son was born at Swatow, to which prisoner had re- torted that his fathar had a grudge against him.

MORE TRAFFIC MISHAPS
"SAFETY FIRST"* REPORT
The following traffic, mishaps are reported in connexion with the "Safety First" campaign by the Traffic Office:
At 8.40 p.m. on Friday, public motor car No. 665 WAB being driven along Queen's Rond East followed by public motor car No. 538. The lending car suddenly stopped and car 638 collided with the rear of car 665, causing dam- age to the bumper and mudguard. No person injured,
At 3.46 p.m. on Saturday taxl cab No. 127 was being driven along Des Voeux Rond Central from weat to cast, following motor lorry No. 1073 at a dis- tance of about 8 feet, when near the Naval Dockyard the lorry suddenly stopped without giving any signal, with the result that the taxi collided with the rear of the lorry, causing damage to the two lamps, (front) of the taxi. No person injured.
On Saturday, Ng Fu, licensed laxl-enb driver No. 3089, of Taxi- cab No.-749, employed by the Blue" Taxi-cab Co., reported that at about 1.50 a.m. that day his taxi- cab and another taxi-cab No. 711 of the Kowloon Taxi-cab Co. were waiting orders outside the U.S.R. Club at Gascoigne Road. Whilst taxi-cnb No. 711 was reversing In order to start off it crashed into the rear part of taxi No. 749, causing damage to the bumper. No person injured.
