In "Perfect Understanding", Gloria Swanson's plcture coming to the King's Theatre on Thursday, the star and her leading man, Laurence Olivier, are shown spending an eight-months". honeymoon travelling in Continental Europe. A novel method was used by director Cyril Gardner to suggest their presence in the various coun- trian-they were shown anting, in quick succession, the typical break- fasts of five different nations. The research department provided informa- tlon as to the breakfasts customarily served in France, Germany, Switzer- land, Sweden and Italy, together with |doscriptions of múltable china and table-linen for each. After eating six breakfasts in one morning (counting, that is, their English bacon and eggs) neither Gloria nór Oliver had much taste for roast beef at lunch timet.

Photo graphed a technicolour, these famous historical personages in their gorgeous costumes, form a striking background ss a silent audience for the present- day drama enacted before them with- in the walls of the wax museum. Directed by Michael Curtiz, whose success in the creation of "Doctor X" has made him: recoganzed as a master of the suspense and thrills, the picturo is said to have a terrific climax. Although there is abundant comedy rollef, doftly woven into the pattern of the story.
