A STRONG ENTRY RECEIVED FOR OPEN TOURNAMENT
There is a strong entry for the
tourna firat open contract bridge ment which has been arranged by a committee under the chairmanship of Mr. Justice Lindsoll. The first, and second round matches will be played next week, there being eleven gamos scheduled for Monday and ton for Tuesday evening:

The Rev. W. Walton Rogers, was appointed to the post of Assistant Clergyman, vacated by the Rev. G. B. Arrowsmith in December, 1926, and succeeded the Rev. G. R. Lindsay na Vicar in May, 1927.
Prior to his appointment at St. Andrew's, the Rev. Rogers work- ed in Canton and district, in con- nection with the Church Mlasian are Society, for 17 years, first as Principal of Holy Trinity College, and later as Warden of St. Andrew's Hostel. He came to Kowloon, therefore, 48 atranger to the East.

Mra. Rogers was a C.M.S. Mis- slonary before her marriage, and. like her husband, has wide ex- perlence in church work.
Mr. Rogers has been widely connected with the activities of Kowloon and has held the post of President of the Kowloon Residents' Association. He is President of the St. Andrew's Club, Chairman of the Church Council, and Chaplain of the St. Andrew's Boy Scouts Troop.
The newly-appointed Vicar, the Rev. Mr. Hong was ordained deacon in 1925 and priest in 1920. In 1928 he was working at St. Peter's. Brockley, Southwark.

Pretty Ceremony
An unusually pretty wedding was solemnised yesterday at the Hotel Cecil between Mr. J. Lopp (Ching Yawing) of a distinguished Chi- nese family in Saigon and Miss Lucy Au, daughter of Mr. Au Kin- cher, proprietor of Messrs. A. Tack and Co. There was n gaily dressed gathering present of over 400 re- latives and friends of the brideg- room and the bride..
The bride, holding a bouquet of white roses, was attended by Miss Gladys Loc, as bridesmaid, who was beautifully dressed in georgette and holding a bundia of chrysanthemums, while Mr. Chan Ying Hung discharged the duty of the best man. Miss Yam acted as flower girl in company with Master Wal Shiu-hung na page boy.
The ceremony was officially per- formed by Dr. C. C. Wu, who, in a speech, said that he had known both the bride and the bridegroom for many years. He read a letter of eulogy In Chinese.
