By a large majority the members of the Hongkong Golf Club, at an 'extraordinary general meeting last evening, defent♥`* ed a motion to nuthoring the committee, to proceed with the construction of new Club House and swimming pool at Fanting at an estimated cost or $350,000. Mr. K. S. Morrison
· presided. "
The resolution before the meeting also asked that the committee be authorised to borrow funds from time to time up to a total of $380,000 at a rate of Interest not exceeding & per -cent per annum to be secured by the issue of debentures, charged. upon the Club's assets and undertolding; and also for an increase of $3 a month as from December 31 in the subscriptions of playing members and an increase in the subscriptions of Indies of $1 a month.
The discusalon which followed the proposal brought out many criticisms, chlef among them being that the time was not opportune to embark upon such a project.
