Winter Gowns With a Sense of Humour

"FLAPPER FANNY" AR TIST INTRODUCES SOME ORIGINAL DESIGNS FOR LITTLE WOMEN

By Joan Savey

New York.-A new young Amer- ' ican designer appears in the Fashion constellation---Gladya Par-

ker.

Already widely famed for her "Flapper Fanny" drawings and her fashion sketches, "Femininities"-- both of which are regular features of (YOUR PAPER)-Gladys Par- ker now launches an entire line of winter clothes which she has de- signed and made for little women.

Staging a one-girl fashion show, to soft music and against a back- ground of flowers, Miss Parker presented her 18 now costumes to an enthusiastic audience in New York. Miss Parker modulled at least half of the costumes herself! "Everybody can't be beautiful.

But you can at least be amusing." is her underlying philosophy. And so she sub-titles her new designs "clothes with a sense of humour."

"All women want to look tall and slender," Miss Parker states. "So I have eliminated belts, put all skirt fullness and decoration low, between the knee and ankle, designed collars that are high in front and in several dresses have entirely done away with hip seams. And I have used long, straight xilhouetten, plain colours stripes."

Smart, original, attractive, wear- abla clothes this young woman has made. Take "White Collar Job." for instance, a sleek black wool office dress that any smart woman would crave the minute she saw it, for its individuality and utter charm.
