OFFICERS ELECTED.
A tribute of rospect to the memory of the late, Sir Claud Severn, who was President of the Hongkong Civil Service Cricket Club. from 1921 to 1925, was paid by His Honour Mr. Justice J. R. Wood, when presiding at the annual meeting of the C.5.0.C. yesterday evening..
"Illa sothualam för the Club and his good fellowship, to all members many of us well remember," suld Mr. Justice Wood,
By neclamation, the Hon. Mr. R. M Henderson, Director of Publle Worką, was elected - Vice-President.
Tho Chairman and the election was not because of Mr. Henderson's official capacity in the Service but because of his long connexion with and loyal support of the Club.
The Chairman referred with regret to the deaths doring the past year of Messrs. S. A. Roberts, J. Shand, H. Coombs, F. II. Holdman and Sir Claud Severn
The Club's accounts were satis factory and thanks were due to Mr. J. A. Bordall (Ilon. Treasurer) and the auditors. He had pleasure in welcoming back from leave Mr. A. 0. Brawn, Chairman of the General Com- |mittee.
Tho Club had not gone in for vulgar SUCCESS. (Laughter). In cricket, the first cleven did not do too well, but the second eleven had "enjoyed themselves." The report was too carly to include the lawn bowls section which would have shown that the team nearly triumphed in the premier division."
The Report and Statement of Ac- counts was seconded by Mr.. R. M. Wood and carried unanimously.
The Chairman, referring to certain additions and amendments to rules anid tho resolution (which was carried) enabled Civil Servants, who are not interested in sports, to take some Interest in the social amenities afforded. He also expressed the hope that such membors would interest their familles in the club, for similar purposes.
The principal hope of your Com- mittee is that it will make member- ship of the Club a tradition in the Service," concluded his Honour.
Tho Chairman proposed a vote of thanks to the out-going committee for their faithful work and this met with applause.
Before the meeting closed. Mr. Brown proposed the thanks of the meeting to Mr. Justice Wood, not only for taking the chair, but for his "keen, Practical and continued interest in the Club." (Applause).

The Hongkong Area Aquatic Sports an annual event and provides somme of the best swimming to bo scen la the Colony, The times registered yesterday for the heats were not ex- ceptional but that cannot be taken as an Indlention that records will not be broken to-day.
Early yesterday afternoon the heats were delayed unt!! 4 p.m. but from the diving and an Inter-Brigade, Small Units and Battalion Relay Race, which will be decided to-day, all the finalists in to-day's programnie or known.
