To nehlove the double it is neces- sary for backers to spot the winner of two races proviously selected by the Stewards. Those successful in the first race are eligible to back the winner of the second selected race, The Fool, constituted by the number of daily double bets on, the first selected raco after deducting commis Blon will be divided amongst nominators of the winning combing- tion. The procedure is as follows:

Immediately the numbers of the starters in the first selected race are exhibited, tickets on the "daily double" at a cost of $5 each, will be obtain- able at a special Daily Double Counter. The purchaser must state the number of the pany he wishes to back in that race and see that he obtains a ticket bearing that pony number.

It is inadvisable for backers to destroy the unposted portions of their tickets until after the declaration of the dividend, because, if the winning combination fr unbacked, the pool will be divided amongst the success- ful backers in the first selected race.

Total gross receipts for the 1932 Olympic games here almost a year. ago were fixed at $1,483,635 in an 814-page official report released recently.

--Admissions--totalled. 1,247,580 over the sixteen-day period from July 30 to August 14 last,, a daily average of 77,973.

While no estimate of the net receipts was made, the local or ganising committee announced shortly after the games that the million dollar State band issue plus interest would be retired and the residue would go to the city and county of Los Angeles.

This residue has not been turned over to these Governmental bodies but it was estimated at the time of the-announcement that it would be approximately $50,000,
