London, Aug. 29. George Headley, the greatest batsman ever to come out of the West Indica and certainly one of the most prolific scorers in England this summer has decided to thrown in his lot with Lancashire League cricket.
The anouncement was made to-day that Headley has definite- ly decided to accept an offer by the Haslingden Club to play in the Lancashire League, subject to the terms and conditions offer- ed by them.
The contract is expected to be signed in a few days, which means that Headley will play next season. Headley has been brilliantly
successful with the West Indies Test team this summer..

A Hyde-Lay fully justisfied the confiedence of his friends yesterday when he defeated A.E. Coates, the Craigengower player in the semi-final of the lawn bowls open singles cham- pionship by 21 shots to 17.
The K.C.C. exponent played steadily against a dour fighter and it was this which allowed Hyde- Lay to retain a winning lead which he obtained early in the game.
