At this time of year most of us feel the need of a tonic. They say there's nothing like a new hat to restore a woman's Jaded nerica. Feeling in need of rejuvenation I decided to try the cure, although the prospect of buying one of the crownless creations with which we have been inflicted during the last few months, did not exactly fill mo with joy. The man or woman who dealgned these atrocities should be compelled to stand on the windlest spot, on the windiest day, wearing one of the wretched things without even the protection of hat-pin. However, I sallied forth and found all the shops were displaying smart millinery-hats of all shapes and sizes, resembling anything from a pancake to a saucepan lld.
