At this time of your most of us feel the need of a tonic. They say there's nothing like a new hat to restore a woman's jaded nerves. Feeling in need of rejuvenation 15 decided to try the cure, although the prospect of buying one of the crownless creations with which we' have been inflicted during the last few months, did not exactly all me with joy. The man or woman who designed these atrocitica ahould be compelled to stand on the windlest spot, on the windlest day; wearing one of the wretched things without even the protection of a hat-pin. Hats were primarily designed for protection. As modern head-gear leave three parts of the head ex- posed, we shall have to harden our heads to the wind and the rain.
