POINTS FOR I.R.C.
(By "Veritas")
The Kowloon Cricket Club deserved to win half a point in their "B" Division league tennis match with South China yes- terday evening, and can be re- garded as unlucky to concede path boints at the scores of 5% sets to 3%.
Stapleton and Smith were within a point of halving with C. P. Ip and K. M. Chan in the first set, but two bad bounces robbed them of vital points,
Gray's weakness overhead was the cause of the defeat of Burnett and himself In the first set, but sub. sequently the K.C.C, pair im- proved and won their remaining two sets with comparative ease.

If ever a player, in any game, was beaten with honour, that player
was Misa Dorothy Round, when she lost to Mrs. Moody in the women's singles final at Wimbledon.
Mrs. Moody won at 6-1, 6-8, 6-3, and behind those figures lies a story of real sporting drama.
The match will indeed go down in Wimbledon history as a "classic," Writes Frank Poxon in the News- Chronicle,

Recreio Fail to Stop I.R.C.
Miss Round was faster in foot- work and her strokes were more varied. Her one fault was in using the "drop" shot far too much.
The real drama began in the second set,
Miss Round levelled at. 6 all, A. p. and drew out to 7-6, with the crowd in a frenzy of excitement. In the 14th game Mrs. Moody had to fight to save the set.
Mrs, Moody got to game point. Miss Round over-drove the side- line, so it seemed, and the umpire called "Game to Mrs. Moody."..Two linesmen spoke to him with differing views and he then called "Deuce": he had given the ball "in." SENSATIONAL DEFEAT BY K.C.C. YESTERDAY
K.B.G.C. & POLICE BENEFIT
There were rejoicings in the Kowloon Bowling Green Club and the Police Recreation Club last evening when it became known that Craigengower, last year's champions, and one of the chief contenders for the title this summer, had been do feated in the first division of the Lawn Bowls League by the Kowloon Cricket Club.
The K.C.C., occupying next to the last position in the league, sprang a big surprise both on their opponents and supporters. Tho team played extremely fine bowls and finished well on two rinks, whilst the third tled nt 19-ali after scoring four on the last hend.
