The K.C.C. are at home and this may, offer them some slight ad- vantage, but it is doubtful whether it will be sufficient to help them defeat the powerful Chinese six.

The Hongkong Cricket Club are, making one change in the team which lost to South China last Wednesday, Hazell, re- covered from his bout of in- fluenza, returns to take the place

of R. H. Wild.

RECREIO LOSE TO THE K.C.C.

K.B.C.C.

AGAIN

ON TOP

The Kowloon Cricket Club provided a first class sensation among the bowling fraternity on Saturday when they visited the Club de Recreio in the first division of the lawn bowls league and won by 32 shots.

Occupying the bottom rung of tht league ladder, the K.C.C. appeared to have no chances of winning against the powerful Portugese team in running for the championship. But the Cricket; Club players gave their best dis- play of the season every man play-f ing his part in the achievement.

The defeat seriously jeopardised the Recreio's leadership prospects, and the Bowling Green, as a result of their win against the Police,; and Craigengower, who have a game in hand, are now well en- trenched at the top of the table.

The Bowling Green have again caught up Craigengower in the) second division thanks to a win: (Continued on Page 9:)

MISS ROUND'S

EFFORT

Overseas players made a clean sweep of Wimbledon this year, not a single Eng- lish player figuring among the champions.

The only British success was Jack Crawford's annexation of the Men's Singles. Foreign competi- tors enrried off all the other .events.

Miss Dorothy Round played magnißcently against Mrs. Helen Wills-Moody, taking à set from the champion. But she could not stop the American winning the title for the sixth time, thus jequalling the record of Mlic.

Suzanne Lenglen.

British hopes were defeated in: the last round of both the Mixed Daubles and Women's Doubles. The former. title fell to the Ger man combination, Von Cramm and Fraulein Krahwinkel, whilst the Franeo-American pair, Aime. Mathieu and Mrs. Ryan won the Women's event.
